SACAC Counselling has a long history of working with international schools in Singapore. Our therapists collaborate with school counsellors and parents to provide support to the child.
Our therapists are professionally trained and experienced in diverse therapeutic modalities and approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, Mindfulness, Integrative Approach, Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytic Therapy, Expressive Therapies (Sand, Art, Play & Movement), Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Solution Focused Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Trans-Personal Regression Therapy, Matrix Re-Imprinting and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).
Depending upon the individual client’s age group our therapists provide specialized support. Therapy sessions are conducted in a child friendly environment and with tools that enable children to work through their challenges. Our child counsellors are multicultural and speak English, Japanese, French, Spanish, Hindi and Bahasa.
We have very experienced Clinical Psychologists who conduct a range of assessments targeting the following areas:
Where we differentiate ourselves is with our 'pre' and 'post' assessment process. Prior to the assessment, an emphasis is placed on obtaining a comprehensive history about a child’s current level of functioning. Post assessment, the focus is on support strategies that can be pursued in school and home settings. Follow up review meetings are encouraged with the child’s school.

Workshops - We host a number of workshops throughout the year covering a wide variety of topics for children, adults, parents, couples, organizations and educational institutions. Workshops are typically customized as per the needs of the audience and can be conducted in different settings.
Workshops for Children – These can be focused on building emotional and social skills covering topics like building confidence and focus, handling unruly behaviour, coping with bullying, building a positive school culture, communication, handling anxiety, etc.
Workshops for Teenagers – These can engage teenagers in topics relevant to their personal growth and quality of life including areas like – managing expectations, relationship with parents, healing from break-ups, discovering your potential, finding your way in a confusing world, coping skills, addiction, body image and self-esteem, with an objective to better navigate their direction in life and develop into resilient, balanced and positive adults.
Workshops for Parents – Parenting is one of the most significant roles people take up in their lifetime as everything they do (or do not do) has a direct impact on their child. Parenting workshops can help in knowing, understanding and implementing the best ways to foster a healthy development of a child along with learning strategies to deal with difficulties faced in the process.
Support Groups – We run support groups for individuals to provide new insights and different perspectives, through interaction with others who have similar concerns and issues.
SACAC Counselling has helped facilitate the Singapore International School Counselling Network (SISCN) for school counsellors in Singapore for over ten years. It’s an opportunity for counsellors to meet, network and collaborate with each other. We also bring in speakers from various community groups to familiarize counsellors with local resources and training opportunities. The group meets twice a year.
If you are a school counsellor and would like to be a part of the SCN, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to be included in the mailing list and invited to the next meeting.
